Teen remanded for snatching phone

A 17-year-old was on Tuesday remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Annette Singh charged for snatching a cellphone.
Akeem Grandville, of Georgetown, denied that he snatched a cellphone belonging to Avinash Rackbar at Water Street, Georgetown.
According to Police Prosecutor Devon Goodman, the teen snatched the phone from the hands of the Virtual Complainant while they were both commuting in the same minibus. According to the Prosecutor, after snatching the phone, the teen exited the bus.
However, the Virtual Complainant (VC) pursued him and caught him and handed him over to the Police.
Magistrate Singh denied bail and remanded Grandville to prison. He will return to court on February 19.
