A drinking spree in the Corentyne community of Black Bush Polder in East Berbice turned deadly on Sunday evening when a teenager was stabbed to death by his brother after he refused to lend him his motorcycle. 
Dead in 18-year-old Vishaul Zakaroo of Lot 85 North Yakusari, Black Bush Polder. Reports are that the two brothers were among others imbibing when the 22-year-old suspect requested to borrow his younger brother’s motorcycle. Due to his drunken state, the victim reportedly refused to hand over the keys to the vehicle, and this resulted in an argument between the brothers, during which the elder brother whipped out a knife and stabbed his younger brother once to his stomach.
Rushed to the Mibicuri Public Hospital, the injured teen was treated, but later succumbed to the injury he had received. The murder weapon was recovered while the suspect is in Police custody assisting with investigations.
The body of the teenager was taken to Ramoo’s Funeral Home, and is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
