Teens among 4 arrested with stolen motorcycles

Two teenagers – aged 18 and 19 – were among four persons who were arrested after they were accused of stealing four motorcycles.

The incident occurred between Thursday and Friday at Bartica, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni).
Police said based on information received regarding the recent theft of the motorcycles, two of the suspects were arrested.
Cops added that based on the information received from the two suspects, a party of policemen conducted an operation at 14 Miles Issano Backdam and 72 Miles Kaburi Village, Potaro Road, where three motorcycles were recovered.
One of the motorcycles had its chassis and engine number filed off and at the time had no licence plate while the other two were branded “CDI” with no licence plate. The said motorcycles were found in the possession of the teenagers.
As such, they were told of the offence committed, cautioned and taken to the Bartica Police Station where they remain in custody. The alleged stolen motorcycles were confiscated as investigations continue.
