Home News Teens robbed by gunman while buying food
Two teens, one 18 and the other 19 years old, have been left traumatised after they were robbed at gunpoint by a lone armed bandit at Yong’s Chinese Restaurant at Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara on Tuesday.
The robbery occurred at about 20:15h, and according to Police, the teens were robbed of a black wallet containing $45,000, property of the 18-year-old, and a black A21s cellphone valued at $35,000, property of the 19-year-old.
Reports are that the victims were standing on the western side of the Pouderoyen public road waiting on food they had ordered from the Chinese restaurant when the suspect, who was on the opposite side of the road, ran over and pointed a black handgun at them.
The teens were instructed not to move, as the armed man took away their personal belongings before running away from the scene, making good his escape.
A report was subsequently made to the Police, and an investigation has been launched into the robbery, as Police continue their search for the suspect. (G9)
