Tenelec Inc’s First Division tournament bowls off today in Berbice
First Division cricket action bowls off today, Saturday March 26, with matches across the ancient county of Berbice. The powerhouse team Rose Hall Town Namilco Thunderbolt Flour will play Blairmont at a venue yet to be confirmed, while Tucber Park will play West Berbice at West Berbice. Albion have drawn a bye for the first round.

In the other fixtures, Upper Corentyne will play Skeldon at Skeldon Community Centre. Port Mourant will play Young Warriors at Port Mourant, while Rose Hall Canje and Police will lock horns at Rose Hall Canje.
All matches will start at 9:30am, and according to the Berbice Cricket Board, only one non-Berbician player is allowed to participate in each team’s matches. Each team is allowed a maximum of only two non-Berbician players to be registered per year.
Walkover shall be granted half an hour after the scheduled start of play.
Captains have to be present at latest twenty minutes before 9:30am (9:10am) to spin the toss, or they would forfeit the toss.
The BCB would allow players with one vaccine to play in this tournament, but only fully vaccinated players shall be allowed in the remaining First Division tournament.
In the event of a washout, only the BCB can reset a new date. All COVID-19 guidelines are to be followed: face masks in pavilion, hand sanitizers, and social distancing. Only registered players are allowed to play for their own clubs, and all teams are to submit their list of players before the start of the tournament.
All players seeking to play for a new club must obtain permission from their old clubs and acceptance from the new club.
