The Guyana Foundation congratulates President, new Cabinet

The Board of Trustees, management, staff and volunteers of the Guyana Foundation extend congratulations to President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, Prime Minister Mark Phillips, Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo and the entire Cabinet.
The Foundation has been working in nine of the 10 regions of Guyana since 2013 providing charitable assistance and later free vocational skills training and mental health counselling through its Sunrise Centre.

Its mission is to empower Guyanese to rebuild their communities and bring fulfilment and well-being to their families, enabling them to build relations of trust and friendship among themselves irrespective of race and beliefs.
The team is aware of the many challenges that face the new government in every sector and as such, wishes them well.
However, the Foundation’s work has exposed the urgent need for a robust plan to be put in place to educate and empower our population with skills to benefit from the development that must come with our new oil industry.
Guyanese living in the Diaspora have played a supportive role in the Foundation’s work over the years and in its estimation, they should be called on to make their contributions to their homeland.
In battling the scourge of suicide over the years, the Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) has seen the dire need to provide real opportunities for youth and women throughout the country; the need to improve the conditions and secure the involvement of Indigenous peoples and the need to allow the elderly population to age with dignity and respect for the contributions they have made to bring us this far.
“We commit to continuing our work, albeit in a very small way to make our contribution to bring improvement in some of these areas,” the Foundation stated in a release.
The Board of Trustees include Supriya Singh Bodden, Che Jian Ping, Johann Insanally, Special Advisor O’Neil Outar and Oral Delmore.
