Reports are Leroy Robinson, 38, was with his reputed wife inside the wash bay when the two bandits struck, demanding valuables from the couple.
The men relieved Robinson of a cellular phone and a small sum of cash. However, in apparent dissatisfaction over the booty, one of the armed men shot the victim once to his left knee before the two made good their escape.
The Police were alerted shortly after the incident and prompt action by a rank on a motorcycle patrol resulted in the apprehension of an armed suspect a short distance from the scene. A .38 revolver with one spent shell was found in his possession. However, his accomplice managed to escape. Police have since launched a manhunt for the accomplice. The victim has been admitted to a city hospital.
