According to reports reaching Guyana Times, the robbery occurred at A and N Electronic Store located at Croal Street, Georgetown, around 03:30h on Wednesday.
The owner of the store, Nishal Ramnarine, explained that he was alerted after the alarm system at his business place was triggered.
He added that he responded to the alarm and went over to the store with his licensed firearm. According to the businessman, upon entering the store, he noticed the man searching through some items and raised an alarm.
This startled the thief who grabbed a steel bar and fired a lash at the businessman.

Ramnarine told this publication that he fired four shots, but only one struck the man to his face.
After being shot, the man escaped and sought treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was apprehended.
