Thousands of residents living along the West Coast and West Bank of Demerara and along the East Bank of Essequibo and Essequibo Coast on Sunday experienced a 12-hour landline phone, mobile and Internet shutdown.
Reports are the disruption started at 05:00h and connections were restored at 16:30h.
When Guyana Times reached out to GTT, it was related that there were some service disruptions due to a fallen Guyana Power and Light (GPL) cable in Eccles, East Bank Demerara on Sunday morning.
On its Facebook page, the telecommunications company has a notice outlining that data, mobile and landline services in Tuschen , Parika, Leonora, Windsor Forest, Fellowship, Meten-Meer-Zorg, Cornelia Ida, Zeeburg, Vreed-en-Hoop, Anna Regina, Hampton Court, Suddie, Queenstown, Better Hope, La Grange, Canal, Wales, Supenaam and Charity will be impacted.
