Tony’s endorses Linden’s year-end Futsal

Tony’s Auto Spares is the latest company to throw its support behind the third edition of the Mohamed’s Enterprise, Cell Smart Futsal tournament organized by New Era Entertainment and scheduled for Linden town.
At a simple handing over ceremony at the company’s 72 light Street, Alberttown location where New Era’s Director Kenrick Noel received the sponsorship cheque from Technical Executive of the Auto Spares company, Lakeram Prabudial.

Speaking on behalf of the 25 year old company, Prabudial said the company is committed to giving back to the sporting world as they recognize sport to be an integral part of the lives of Guyanese as well as to continue with the development of sport the mining town of Linden.
The tournament will commence on November 25 with action set for the Mackenzie Hard Court in Linden and will run for nine nights with the finals set for December 26. The event is open to all Futsal teams and attracts an entry fee of $5,000 per team. Forms and the fees should be submitted by today which is the closing date for registration.
Noel expressed thanks to the company for their contribution to the development of the sport, the people of linden and the tournament as they aim to get everyone involved to make the tournament one of the biggest in the region.
Game nights are set for November 25 with the opening ceremony, followed by action on November 26, December 2, 3, 9, 10, 17 and 23. The grand finale is on December 26. Prior to the first game there will be a team briefing on November 19.
The first prize is $400,000 along with trophies and replicas, up by $100,000 from last year. The second placed team will claim $150,000 and trophy, third $75,000 and trophy and fourth place will collect a trophy. Other prizes are on offer for the MVP, Best goalkeeper and Best young player.
The organisers are working to have the females involved in this year’s event, while several exhibition games will be part of the attraction. Among those exhibition contests are the Promoters versus the Referees, Taxi Drivers against Mini Bus drivers and a specially arranged Media contest. Noel, indicated that next year they are endeavoring to have school players involved to aid with the development of the game at the junior level.
This year some 20 teams will be competing in the New Era Futsal tourney, up from the 14 that played in the previous edition.
The organisers are promising an exciting and entertaining tournament with lots of side attractions. Patrons are encouraged to go and support the tournament as the teams put on their best show to claim the prize money on offer.
