Top cyclists all eager for Malta Supreme 11-stage race today

Last weekend’s National Cycling Championships having concluded with exciting though surprising results, cyclists will continue to battle for supremacy even as they entertain adoring enthusiasts when they clash at the National Park today, Saturday July 6, 2019, for the Malta Supreme 11-stage cycling event which commences at 9:30h.
This racing event is sponsored by beverage giants Banks DIH Ltd under their Malta Supreme non-alcoholic beverage brand. Cycling Organizer and Coach, Hassan Mohammed, is responsible for running off today’s events, and the inner circuits of the National Park will be buzzing with activities as the various stages of the event are held.
Riders from across Guyana will vie for the top spot won by Warren ‘40’ McKay, the defending champion, who won the 35-lap affair in 2018 in one hour, 13 minutes and 12 seconds. Team Evolution’s Christopher Griffith had finished in second position, while the Berbician Romello Crawford, who will today be competing, had finished in third position.
This ninth annual Malta Supreme Race will feature top riders Jamaul John, the current Road Race Champion; Briton John, the Time Trial champion of 2019; and Linden’s Michael Anthony.
Romello Crawford and his fellow Berbician Andre ‘Padlock’ Green will also be eying top spots after their ordinary showing at the National Cycling Championships.
The indomitable Paul De Nobrega and the do-or-die Berbician Curtis ‘Chappy’ Dey are expected to register peak performances.
Today’s event, which will pedal off from 9:30h, will see younger cyclists taking centre stage, while the main event, the elite/senior race, will be a 35-lap affair around the National Park.
