Top golfers continue battle for LGC title

The ongoing quest to crown a new Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) champion continues this Saturday, when a star-studded bevy of pros will take to the Greens for the third tourney of its kind for 2018.
Contenders the calibre of former Captain and veteran golfer Patrick Prashad, former Guyana Open champion Mike Mangal, reigning 8-time champ Avinash Persaud, Guyana Open aspirants Richard Haniff and ‘Max’ Persaud among others, will take to the Greens.

LGC Executive members, Secretary ‘Pandit Ravi’ and Treasurer Aasrodeen Shaw, are in immaculate form, having won the last two tournaments back-to-back, while the man in the lead — President Aleem Hussain — will have his work cut out for him as he tries to keep his lead.
Each golfer’s club tournament score receives points, which add up at the end of the year. The golfer with the best aggregate over a certain number of tournaments out of the 10 to be played will be used to determine the champion.
In addition to the winning trophy, President Hussain confirmed, spoils will go to the crowned champion. These include umbrellas, golf clubs, golf bags, $50,000 cash, preferred parking spot, free locker, 5% off Assuria Discount Card (good at 60+ locations), a trophy, and of course a full year of bragging rights.
