Top marksmen on target in year-end shoot  

GNRA Smallbore Annual Championship Shoot

Top marksmen were on target when the Guyana National Rifle Association held their closing shoot for 2016 with the smallbore meet at the Timehri Ranges at Yarrowkara, Linden Soesdyke Highway on Sunday.
They were lead by Dale Hing and Gordon Richards who finished one and two respectively in the Smallbore section’s marquee event, the national championships which was sponsored by Shoe Source, Java Coffee Bar, Secure Innovation and Concepts.

Hing tallied 604 points to relegate Richards top the second place with 594 points. Harold ‘Top Gun’ Hopkinson had to settle for the third place with 578 points with Surujbali Persaud and Azaad Hassan in fourth and fifth place on 576 and 548 points respectively.capture
Sunday’s shoot saw a combination of all the sections Precision and Practical Pistol scores being tallied to arrive at the overall top five shots in the nation.
Senior and junior shooters were on show but for the honour of being called overall champion, only the senior shooters were considered due to the fact that many of the junior shooters were first time competitors.
