Torginol Paints Golf Invitational tees off June 2nd
The Lusignan Greens will come alive this Saturday when Torginol Paints host their annual Open Invitational Golf tournament, which is set to tee off at 12:30h.
This means that the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) – “Anaconda”, as it is proposed to be branded — and Torginol Paints continue their dynamic 15-year partnership with yet another invitational, which is expected to be flocked by the best pros in Guyana.
Non-members are welcome to participate in this tournament, but are required to pay a nominal tournament fee which covers the green fee, lunch, and a caddie for the18-hole tournament. Despite the current inclement weather, golfers can take advantage of the freshly manicured greens and fairways to compete for top honours. Prizes would be awarded to the top 4 Best Net scores, the Best Gross score, the Longest Drive, and the Nearest to a designated Pin.
Previous Paints tournament winners include Colin Ming – 2009; Fazil Haniff – 2011; Clifford Reis – 2012; Mark Lashley – 2013; and Shanella Webster – 2014.
Torginol Paints Company Secretary Mohamed S. Ally had, on February 7, handed over the sponsorship cheque for this tournament to the LGC, when Production Manager Fenton Persaud commented, “We have been associated with the Lusignan Golf Club for over 15 years, and have been a proud sponsor of tournaments”.
