Dear Editor,
The headline laments a position by the Mayor that the TC acted alone in the dismantling of structures outside the Yhip’s Bakery building on Robb Street as was suggested by Kaieteur News that he was acting like a lone ranger.
The TC did not act alone. She was carrying out a lawful court order, one she said she would, while the Mayor chose not to adhere with the order, and play the seek an extension game. It’s always like this. Each time the truth confronts, because of inefficiency, scapegoats are found. This time it is the TC and of course, always the government.
The TC cannot be faulted for carrying out her lawful duties.
Let’s face it. City Hall has no solution or remedial action plan for the vendors and vending problems. Laying blame and casting aspersions are not the answers. The vending issues are ongoing and only when confronted with a court order does City Hall pretend to get busy.
Take failed persons and put them in positions don’t expect different outcomes.
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
