Town Council promises to rid Anna Regina of stray animals
Following a meeting with drivers of public transportation on Wednesday at the Anna Regina Car Park, Mayor Rajendra Prabhulall has promised to remove all stray animals that are roaming the streets.
The Mayor said that the Council has given the owners of the stray animals two weeks to comply with the laws or face the necessary consequences.
Residents were warned not to tie their animals on the road shoulders within the township since such could result in accidents. Drivers have been claiming that the animals are roaming the streets, especially at nights, and causing them to spend unnecessary monies on repairs. “When you get into an accident you can’t report it, because no one is claiming the animals,” one man stated.
The Mayor warned that the Municipal Pound was back in operation, and residents were asked to desist from allowing their animals to roam the roadways.
