Trial begins for man accused of killing Soesdyke remigrant

Anthony Breedy, the 60-year-old remigrant agriculturist, was robbed of his life and his possessions when he was killed during a robbery at his Hill Foot, Soesdyke-Linden highway home back in March 2016, State Prosecutor Latifah Elliott told a 12-member jury on Wednesday.
She was at the time making opening statements in the trial of 26-year-old Donell Trapp, the accused indicted for the murder of Breedy, when he was arraigned before Justice Jo-Ann Barlow.
Trapp, who is being represented by Attorneys-at-Law Dexter Smartt and Jevon Cox, has denied killing Breedy between March 12 and 14, 2016 in the course/ furtherance of a robbery.
Police have said that Breedy’s body, found in the lower flat of his home, bore multiple injuries to the head. Breedy, who had lived alone, was found with his hands and feet tied. The upper flat of his home was also ransacked.
