Trim and Chapman return as President, General Secretary of MSC

Avery Trim has been re-elected as the MSC President

The Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC), in Linden, has opted to trek a familiar trail by re-electing Avery Trim to steer the leading sports institution in the mining town when the Club held its Annual General Meeting and Biennial Elections on Sunday evening at the MSC Lounge. Also gaining the approval of members to continue in his post was General Secretary Joseph Chapman.
Trim pledged to do his best to bring back the heydays of the MSC. He added that he hoped that the practice did not continue of some persons just taking up positions on the executive and failing to be part of the process in taking the Club to higher heights.
He promised to serve as a president for the benefit of all the members, the community as a whole and those in the Diaspora who are willing to help build the Club back to its former glory.
While Trim and Chapman were re-elected, there is a new First Vice President in Norris King who served previously as the Assistant Secretary/Treasurer. Rawle Toney is new to the body as the Second Vice President while Keith Semple, who was the Public Relations Officer (PRO), is now the Third Vice President.
The Assistant to the General Secretary is Coretta Braithwaite Walton while the new Treasurer is Derron John and his assistant is John Trim, who was a Committee Member on the previous executive.
Judy Gravesande Noel will serve as the new PRO while the Committee Members are Audwin Rutherford, Compton London, Troy Roberts, and Robert Langevine.
The Linden Mayor and Town Council, the Regional Democratic Council and the Government of Guyana are being written to appoint their representatives to sit on what is known as the Management Committee of the MSC.
Veteran trade unionist Charles Sampson served as the Returning Officer.
