Trio arrested after bag with ganja found on dam at LBI

– 4th suspect escapes after seeing Police

Three males were taken into custody following the discovery of a quantity of cannabis during a Police operation on Tuesday evening at La Bonne Intention (LBI), East Coast Demerara (ECD).

Police stated that during the exercise, ranks observed the three males in the area while a fourth male started to run upon seeing them. He managed to escape despite being pursued.
However, Police stated that while combing the area, a plastic bag was discovered along the muddy dam. The bag was retrieved, and upon inspection, several transparent Ziploc bags were found containing cannabis.
As such, a 29-year-old electrical worker and a 28-year-old carpenter both from Onion Field, LBI, and a 34-year-old plumber from Canterbury Walk, Beterverwagting, were arrested and taken to the Police Station.
The cannabis was weighed in their presence and amounted to 364 grams. They remain in custody pending further investigation and charges.
