Three men appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus on Friday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts to answer to three counts of simple larceny charges.
Carlos Scott, 23; Glendel Gonsalves, 23; and Fitzroy Calvan, 22; all denied the charges read to them.
The court heard that on March 19, 2018, at Friendship, Pomeroon River, the three men stole a 75 horsepower Yamaha engine worth $1.3 million, a gas pump valued $400,000, a remote worth $100,000 and other items; which totalled $1.7 million.
Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield objected to bail, based on the seriousness of the offence and he further added that the defendants gave caution statements.
Bail was refused by Magistrate Isaacs-Marcus and the matter was adjourned to March 28.
