Triple-threat Mohamed ready to score big at South Dakota
President of the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) Ramez Mohamed will be driving three cars across four categories for this weekend’s Caribbean Motor Racing Championships (CMRC) final leg at the South Dakota Circuit.
In addition to his Toyota Starlet and Honda Civic, Mohammed has now acquired a
Mazda RX 7 three-powered rotary for which he will be competing in the two-wheel drive group four.
His starlet is expected to compete in the Starlet Cup and Group three while his Honda Civic battles in the group two class.
“I have three different race teams; there is a different mechanic and even a different manager. All they cars are ready. The Mazda just needs some tuning but I am ready to compete”.
He added, “It will be tough but I did before, competing in three different categories and I will manage again.”
With Trinidad and Tobago being strong favourites to retain to their title, Mohamed feels that he will be successful and will be able to garner much needed points for Guyana to up their place in the standings.
Added to the pressures of racing, Mohamed will have his work cut given that this event has a 27-race programme which will encompass heated action on both Saturday and Sunday.
Based on reports, two professional drift cars from Trinidad and Tobago, as well as, four SR-3 Radicals from Guyana Barbados will bring added attractions for fans.
Scrutineering will take place on Thursday and Friday, and before the qualification on Saturday after which races get underway from 14:00 hrs.
