Trophy Stall comes on board Nand Persaud Sprint Classic

The much-anticipated Nand Persaud Sprint Classic horse racing meet is due for staging on Sunday, August 11, at the company’s racing facility at Macedonia Estate, Number 36 Village, Corentyne, Berbice; and the event is being given a big boost with the sponsorship of Trophy Stall, which has branches at different locations in this country.

Under promotion of ‘Sky Plus Incorporated’ Promotions Group, this event will see the Trophy Stall putting up trophies for the events, and fully sponsoring the trophy for the Jockey category.
Champion jockey, trainer and stable will be rewarded with trophies and other incentives compliments of Trophy Stall.
General Manager of Trophy Stall, Ramesh Sunich, made the presentation of trophies to Mohendra Persaud, General Manager of the Nand Persaud Group of Companies, who is also the events coordinator, on Wednesday at the Trophy Stall’s Port Mourant Branch on the Corentyne Coast in East Berbice.
More than 45 horses have so far been registered to participate in this meet. Seven races are on the day’s card, and more than four million dollars in cash, trophies and other incentives are up for grabs.
The feature event is for animals classified E and Lower over 4 furlongs for a winning purse of $300,000 and a trophy. Top animals expected to be in contention include Score’s Even, Simple Side, Golden Dancer, T and T, and Golden Blue Echo.
Uprising Star, War Story, Dazzling Girl and Awesome Bandit are among those animals in contention in the Two-Year-Old Guyana-bred race over 660 yards for the winning take of $150,000 and a trophy.
The J Class event has a number of entries, while the K Class race has the likes of Touch the Cash, The Rock, Touch Down and Irish Boy in contention.
Among those down to battle it out in the L Class Male race are Cool Mood, Awesome Banner and Plane land. The event for Female L Class animals will see the likes of Pinky, Promise, Royal Progressive and Wonder Girl.
The non-earners from the above two L Class races will also compete for a top prize.
Apart from Trophy Stall, other major sponsors include ANSA McAL through its Stag Beer Brand; 4R Bearings and Belts, and NPG Packaging and Plastics Inc.
