Trophy Stall on board for GRFU Sevens tournament

Trophy Stall is partnering with the GRFU to host the GRFU/Trophy Stall Sevens tournament, set for today at 12:00h in the National Park (western side). The action will see a total of 10 matches being played, inclusive of the grand finale.
At its South Road location yesterday, Trophy Stall handed over a quantity of trophies and beverages in support of the tournament, even as its owner Ramesh Sunich told the media, “I would like to thank the Guyana Rugby Football Union for allowing me to sponsor a tournament. I would also like to ask my fellow business people, I’d like to tell them that through the media, donation, trophies and other things through sports, it is the way we got up. I would just like to say to them to come on board with these different organisations.”

George David, National Men’s 7s Team Manager and representative of the Referees Association to the Executive Committee

Representing the GRFU, George David, National Men’s 7s Team Manager and representative of the Referees Association to the Executive Committee, conveyed the GRFU’s gratitude to Trophy Stall for the donation, and said the reputation of Trophy Stall precedes its activities.
“We are trying to have these seven-a-side tournaments out of the way – at least two before the year has ended – as this would mean we would have achieved our goals within the confines of our present situation, which is the COVID-19. We are looking forward for next year to (bring) bigger and better things,” David posited.

David is convinced that these tournaments would serve as a guide for the GRFU in terms of the talent pool and how much work the union has to put in. He reiterated that the management and staff personnel who are responsible for the RAN tournament have been working assiduously towards this event, and said that as manager of the RAN team, he has been putting in his lot as well.
