…near Rahaman’s Park
A major accident was averted on Tuesday afternoon after a heavy-duty truck, with registration plate GVV 9475, crashed into a lantern post at the corner of
Rahaman’s Park, Greater Georgetown, in an attempt to avoid colliding with a motorcar.
An eyewitness at the scene related that the truck was speeding at the time of the incident, which later resulted in a heavy build-up of the late afternoon traffic. The incident occurred just a short distance away from the new Christmas tree, which replaced the one that collapsed recently after vandals stole the straps that were holding it up.
