Truck driver arrested with unlicensed gun, ammo

A truck driver has been taken into custody after he was on Sunday morning arrested by Police with a gun and ammunition for which he did not possess a firearm licence.
The suspect, a 27-year-old driver of Adams Road, Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara (EBD) was reportedly arrested by Police on the Back Road, Soesdyke.
Guyana Times understands that around 04:20h, Police of A Division (Georgetown-East Bank Demerara) swooped down on the premises at the abovementioned address and made the bust.
The driver was found with the pistol along with 10 matching rounds of ammunition.
He is expected to proceed to the courts shortly.
