Tucber Park beat Courtland to reach final

BCB/NBS 2nd Division 40-over Cricket

New Amsterdam’s Tucber Park will now face Rose Hall in the final of the 2015/2016 Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) New Building Society (NBS) Limited sponsored 40-over second division cricket competition.

Playing at the Cumberland ground, Tuber Park defeated Courtland Cricket Club of the Lower Corentyne area by 7 wickets with 1.5 overs to spare.

Due to rain the match was reduced the overs to 30 per side then another shower further reduced the game to 20 overs.

Tucber Park won the toss and inserted Courtland CC who made 132 for 9, with Jamal Cort hitting a top score of 26. Cort received support from Travis Williams with 25 and Troy Mathieson 13.

Bowling for Tucber Park, young pacer Omar Weatherspoon  took 2 for 18 while National under-15 player Leon Swammy, former national under 19 pacer Niall Smith, current national under 19 all-rounder Joel Seitaram and Keon DeJesus, all took a wicket each.

DeJesus and former national youth wicket keeper/batsman Hakeem Hinds made 37 not out and 36 not out respectively; National under 17 batsman Steve Deonarine with 16, provided some early stability.

Bowling for Courtland skipper John Percival and Timothy McDonald took a wicket a piece.

The final will be played at the Albion Sports Complex on a date to be announced shortly.
