Tucber Park book semi-final spot after defeating Young Warriors

New Amsterdam-Canje giants Tucber Park defeated Young Warriors by three wickets to advance to the semi-finals of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB)-Stag Beer 50-Over First-Division tournament on Saturday last.

Nial Smith bagged four wickets while Damion Vantul had three wickets for Tucber Park

In the match played at Cumberland, East Canje, Young Warriors were restricted to 180-9 in 50 overs.
Nial Smith continued his dominance with the ball; the paceman grabbed 4-20 while the consistent spinner, Damion Vantul had 3-47. Seon Hetmyer, the older brother of Guyana Amazon Warriors batsman, Shimron Hetmyer was the mainstay for Young Warriors.
The solid right-handed Hetmyer scored 66, but it was the brilliance of Smith who put an end to the batting masterclass. Alex Algoo, batting at number four, scored 35 for Young Warriors.
In reply, Tucber Park were tasked to work hard to achieve the target. Eventually, Tucber Park scored 186-7 in 48.2 overs. Veteran batsman Devon Clements top-scored with 40 while Guyana Under-19 all-rounder Leon Swamy smashed 30, and Clifton Lindie contributed 28.
Meanwhile, on Saturday last, Rose Hall Town Thunderbolt Flour team booked their spot in the final after defeating Albion by three wickets at Area H Ground. Albion were bundled out for 204 in 46.1 overs while Delbert Hicks held things together to take Rose Hall Town to 205-7 in 46 overs. Hicks, who had earlier scored a century, scored 60 for the Rose Hall lads.
