Tucber Park Cricket Club congratulates Shepherd on his maiden IPL deal
The executives and members of the Tucber Park Cricket Club are extending congratulations to West Indies cricketer Romario Shepherd on his being drafted by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2022 IPL Auction.
“We are very elated and proud of his outstanding achievements thus far, and would like to reassure him of our unwavering support as he continues to excel in his career. We want to, as well, commend his immediate family for the love and support that have made him the man and the cricketer he is today. Keep going Sheppy, this is only the beginning,” Tucber Park CC said in a statement.
Rajastan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad fought hard for Romario Shepherd before he finally ended up with the SunRisers Hyderabad for a whopping sum of 7.75 CR (US$1,030,750).
Over the years, Shepherd has displayed tremendous discipline, commitment, determination, and an exemplary work ethic, qualities which have no doubt been the driving force behind his success.
Shepherd, who continues to enhance the already outstanding legacy of the Tucber Park Cricket Club in New Amsterdam, is currently in India with the West Indies team that is playing T20Is against India.
Shepherd was spotted by former BCB President Carl Moore since he was playing under-15 school cricket.
Shepherd is the first player from the Tucber Park Cricket Club to have achieved this honour, and now joins West Indies female players Candacy Atkins and Tremayne Smartt as Berbician cricketers who have been so distinguished of late.
Shepherd started his cricket career at this club in 2008, during his under-15 days, when the club was led by Carl Moore, an outstanding former cricket administrator in Guyana, who now resides in the United States of America. The club is now being led by Carl Moore’s son Julian, who has heartily congratulated Shepherd on his IPL deal.
