The formidable Tucville team were held to 4-4 draw against Albouystown when action continued on Sunday in
the Ministry of Health/ Petra Organisation Soft Shoe Tournament which is being played under the theme, “Against Gender Based Violence.”
Playing at the Santos Training ground on Brickdam, the encounter between the two teams was certainly the most exciting match of the night was it saw eight goals being scored on a night where 26 goals were scored.
The Tuvcille team which boast several players from the city side Fruta Conquerors took the early lead in just 34 seconds into the game via Dennis Edwards but Albouystown hit back in the 8th minute when Roy Samuels found the back of the neck.
Kelsey Benjamin reasserted the lead in the 10th for Tucville followed by another brace in the 21st but shoot-out between the two sides continued as Kemo Scott hammered a double in the 23rd and 26th.
The goals did not stop there since Tefon Daly handed Tucville the lead once more which looked to be the winning shot but in the final minute Tevin Curry rescued Albouystown when he etched his name onto the score sheet and secured the draw.
In the other matches, Alexander Village defeated Festival City 2-0; Ryan October landed a double in the 2nd and 21st minute in the comfortable victory.
North East La Penitence trounced Young Ballers 4-2 with their goals coming of the feet of Calvin Moore, Kelvin Moore, Jamal Scott and a own goal in the 5th, 7th, 15th and 27th minutes respectively.
The men on target for Young Ballers were Emil Cusburt in the 6th and Shawn Mohammed in the 21st.
Cross Street drew 3-3 with Bent Street; Jobe Caesar (10th), Ryan Hackett (13th) and Sheldon Profitt (15th) hit the back of the net for Cross Street. On the opposing side, National player Konata Manning rallied his team with a hat-trick which was recorded in the 12th, 14th and 17th minutes.
West Front Road also played to a drawn encounter with Broad Street after the game ended 2-2. Ryan Jones in the 12th and Devon Johnson (19th) scored for Broad Street while Michael Oie and Randolph Wagner netted in the 21st and 23rd. Sophia gained a win via a walk over California square.
The matches that will continue on Wednesday at the same venue will pit Laing Avenue against Campbellville from 19:00hrs followed by Holmes Street Tiger Bay against California Square from 19:45 hrs.
At 20:30 hrs West Back Road will be in action against Channel 9 Warriors while Tucville take on North East La Penitence from 21:00 hrs. The two final matches of the night will be Cross Street against Globe Yard at 21:45 hrs then the feature encounter with Festival City playing North Ruimveldt from 22:30 hrs. ([email protected])
