Tuschen man attacked, beaten while liming with friends

A 23-year-old man is now hospitalised after being beaten by two men on Tuesday at a popular drinking bar at Tucshen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE).
The injured man has been identified as Damian Ramnaraine.
Based on reports received, Ramnarine was in the company of three of his friends at the bar, consuming alcohol when an argument broke out between two of them. He was reportedly standing approximately 10 feet away from them, but, during the argument, someone threw a bottle that hit Ramnaraine to the top of his left eye, causing him to sustain injuries.
Shortly after, two men exited a red Toyota NZE and approached Ramnaraine, and another argument ensued among them. The men then armed themselves with Guinness bottles and dealt Ramnaraine several lashes about his head. Ramnarine, however, managed to escape from his attackers, and hid in a nearby yard. The two men then boarded their motorcar and drove off.
Ramnaraine’s brother later arrived at the scene, and he took Ramnaraine to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, where he was treated and referred to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he has been admitted a patient.
The matter was reported, but the two suspects remain at large. Police are continuing their investigations.
