Tuschen man found dead by son in suspected suicide

Shockwaves ripped through the village of Tuschen, East Bank of Essequibo (EBE), as residents of the community learned of the passing of a man who allegedly took his own life in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
The victim was identified as a 52-year-old joiner of Lot 900 Tuschen Housing Scheme, EBE.
The man’s lifeless body was found at about 01:00h by his son, who told investigators that his father was showing signs of depression for some time now, and was apparently planning his demise.
The son stated that upon his return from work at about 01:00h, he found his father lying motionlessly at the front door. A bottle suspected to have contained a poisonous substance was found close to his body.
He immediately raised an alarm and the police were summoned to the scene. This publication was informed that an investigation was carried out by the police, who noted that no mark of violence was seen on the man’s body.
The body was then taken to the Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem. The police are continuing their investigations.
