Trophies and cash incentives were presented to outstanding teams and individuals who participated in the fourth annual Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) Banks DIH GT Beer Cup football tournament, which was held at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) Ground in Linden from December 6, 2016 to January 1, 2017.

The awards were presented by the Sales and Marketing Department of Banks DIH in Linden on Friday, following the hosting of the company’s 61st Annual General Meeting (AGM). Champions, Silver Shattas Football Club were presented with $1,000,000 and a trophy, while Eagles United, which secured the second position in the tournament, were awarded $600,000.
Meanwhile, third place team Botofago Football Club were awarded $300,000 and Winners Connection were awarded $200,000 and a trophy for finishing in fourth place.
Most Valuable Player (MVP) Colwyn Drakes of Silver Shattas Football Club was also awarded by the company.
UDFA President Sharma Solomon extended heartfelt thanks on behalf of the Association’s executives.
