Unidentified man found dead at EBE foreshore

A so-far-unidentified man was on Monday found floating at the Vergenoegen foreshore, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), and he is suspected to have drowned.
After the Leonora Police Station had received a report from an unknown caller at about 14:30h, who informed that the body of a man was seen floating at the Vergenoegen foreshore, Police ranks went to the location and found the man’s body, clad in a red short pants, floating face downwards.
The body was retrieved from the water and checked for marks of violence, during which it was observed that parts of the skin on the face had been removed.
The body has been taken to the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour, where it awaits positive identification and autopsy.
