The body of an unidentified man was on Wednesday evening found with lacerations to his head and body at New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara (WCD).

At the time of the discovery, the body was naked. Police are working with the theory that the now deceased man might have been beaten to death.
Based on reports received, about 23:30h on the day in question, the man’s body was found lying on the northern carriageway of New Road.
The body was picked up and taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital mortuary to await positive identification and a post-mortem. An investigation has been launched.
