University student slapped with fraud charge

Georgetown Magistrate Peter Hugh on Friday released university student Jerry Humphrey on $75,000 bail after he appeared before him on a charge detailing that, between September 2015 and November 2017, while being solely entrusted with $1.2 million — property of Seon Boodnaught — to purchase a house lot, he fraudulently converted same to his personal use and benefit.
Police Prosecutor Simone Payne did not object to Humphrey being placed on bail, and after Magistrate Hugh had set the bail, he adjourned the case to November 23.
