Unlawful conduct will be swiftly addressed – AG

Attorney General and Legal Affairs Minister, Anil Nandlall on Friday assumed duties by firstly engaging staff members, where he was pellucid that any unlawful actions at the entity will be addressed.

All employees at the Ministry were reminded of their priority to render professional and competent service to the Government and the people of Guyana.
In a review of the work and operations of the Ministry, any actions or conduct deemed excessive and unlawful will be addressed swiftly and condignly. However, Nandlall also assured all staff members that there will not be any form of discrimination or witch-hunting of any sort.
The Attorney General emphasised that the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) Administration is committed to improving the lives of every Guyanese and reminded that this is the Ministry that is charged with the responsibility of laying down the legal infrastructure to make that possible.
The Minister has served in the capacity of Attorney General in the past from 2011 to 2015 under the PPP Administration. He was selected to fill the position once again on Sunday by President Dr Irfaan Ali.
