UNODC boosts national security with donation of drones to Govt

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in an effort to enhance national security donated two advanced drones (DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise and a DJI Mini 4 Proto) to the Home Affairs Ministry.
According to a recent social media post by the Home Affairs Ministry, the donation was made in the Ministry’s Boardroom by Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer and representative of the UNODC, Roberto Codesal through the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Global Firearm Programme.
Expressing gratitude for the donation was Home Affairs Minister Robeson Benn said, “this donation aligns with the UNODC’s mutual commitment to strengthening security measures and combating illicit activities. The advanced technology provided by these drones will enhance our operational capabilities and contribute to our mission of maintaining public safety.”
Codesal reiterated the UNODC’s dedication to collaborating with the ministry to promote peace and security. “We are pleased to support the Ministry of Home Affairs with these drones, which will undoubtedly bolster their efforts in crime prevention and control,” he stated.
