Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum has confirmed that Deputy Chief Election Officer of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), Roxanne Myers has been taken into custody and is being charged with conspiracy to defraud.
Myers, according to Blanhum, remains in police custody as the investigations are still ongoing.
The DCEO turned up at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters at Eve Leary, earlier today, after it was reported that she is wanted by the Police as the probe into the conduct of the March 02, 2020, General and Regional Elections.
She was accompanied by her attorneys Nigel Hughes and Ronald Daniels.
Thus far, several GECOM officials have been placed before the court on charges relating to electoral fraud.
