The successes of 2018 would be celebrated on Sunday, June 23rd, 2019, when the BCB hosts the second edition of the Brian Ramphal Awards Ceremony at the Port Mourant Community Centre.
BCB President Hilbert Foster has said the venue was chosen because of the BCB policy of taking Berbice Cricket activities to different areas. Last year’s awards ceremony was held at the Albion Community Centre.
A total of 32 awards will be given out for outstanding performances on the cricket field in 2018; while numerous persons, including media personnel and sponsors, will be recognised for their
contributions to Berbice Cricket. Among the awards to be given are Berbice Under-15 Player of the Year, Berbice Under-17 Player of Year, Berbice Under-19 Male and Female Players of the Year, Disciplined Player of the Year, Most Disciplined Player of the Year, Most Improved Player of the Year, Female Cricketer of the Year,
Umpire of the Year, and Coach of the Year.
In recognition of the efforts of players across Berbice, the BCB would also recognise the performances of players in the four sub-zones: West Berbice, New Amsterdam/Canje, Lower Corentyne and Upper Corentyne.
Four different teams from the Sub-zones will be honoured as Clubs of the Year. West Indies Players Shimron Hetmyer and Erva Giddings have been named Male and Female Cricketer of the Year respectively. BCB President Hilbert Foster will provide a comprehensive report on the outstanding work of the board in 2018, and unveil plans for the BCB 80th Anniversary Celebrations set for later in the year.
Director of Sports, Christopher Jones, has been invited to attend the event and to deliver the feature address.
The BCB would also be hosting the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association’s 2nd Awards Ceremony during the BCB Ceremony. A total of ten awards will be given for outstanding performances recorded in the Upper Corentyne area. These awards are: Under-15 Player of the Year, Under-17 Player of the Year, Under-19 Player of the Year, Second Division Player of the Year, First Division Player of the Year, Junior Cricket Club of the Year, Senior Cricket Club of the Year, Primary School of the Year, Secondary School of the Year, and Most Improved Club.

All of the trophies and medals to be used out at the Ceremony have been donated by the ten cricket clubs of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, MS.; Vice President Sydney Jackman; and a former Guyana Senior Player.
The Berbice Cricket Board Awards Ceremony is being sponsored by one of its main donors, Brian Ramphal.
