US Embassy donates over $6M in COVID-19 supplies to GPHC
United States Ambassador Sarah-Ann Lynch and members of the Security Cooperation Office at the US Embassy donated medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
According to a post made on the US Embassy’s social media page, the donation, worth $6.2 million, is intended to assist the Guyanese first responders in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The locally-procured items include respirator masks and face shields, medical examination gloves, infrared thermometers, wrist heart monitors, and disinfecting products. Ambassador Lynch emphasised to the receiving members of the GPHC the United States’ steadfast commitment to support Guyana and that “we’re in this together.”
