USA level U19 series against Windies Women

In a low-scoring encounter, the United States of America’s Under-19 Women levelled the series against the West Indies Under-19 Women at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground, St Augustine, on Tuesday afternoon.

Samara Ramnath

USA Under-19 Women chose to bat first after winning the toss. As the USA batswomen laboured throughout their innings, Brianna Plummer and Theanny Herbert-Mayers’ discipline and superb bowling robbed them of any genuine momentum. During their spells, both bowlers took two wickets. With an undefeated 28 off 26 balls, Taranum Chopra top-scored while Maahi Madhavan supported well with a good knock of 20.

Player of the Match Aditi Kumar

Saanvi Immadi with figures of 4 for 16 and Aditi Kumar with figures of 4 for 10 completely took West Indies out of the game, as no batter got into double figures other than the Captain, Samara Ramnath, who made 35 from 44 balls. West Indies were bowled out for 81 in 19 overs as they lost the game by 23 runs.
The West Indies are scheduled to play the USA again in the fourth T20I on July 30 at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground.
