Vagrant to spend 12 months in prison for breaking into, stealing from ECD business

Forty-one-year-old Kent Williams, a handyman of no fixed place of abode, was on Tuesday sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment for breaking into and stealing from an East Coast Demerara (ECD) business.

Williams was accused of breaking into the premises of a 49-year-old businessman of Mon Repos, ECD, between January 21, 2026, and February 6, 2026, during which he stole several items.
He was, arrested on February 10, 2026, and appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 12 months in jail.
