– launches “1Voice” music video
“Vanilla”, as she is popularly referred to, is creating a storm on social media, especially Facebook, with her music video “1Voice”, which has received over 25,000 views in less than 48 hours of its online release.
“1Voice”, written by Burchmore Simon, speaks of Guyanese working together to truly achieve the goal “One People, One Nation and One Destiny”, to eradicate racism and racial divisions.
“Vanilla”, who was named Melissa Roberts by her parents, is a self-motivated individual who pushes herself to the extreme.
She is heading into the Carib Soca Monarch Competition with her eyes set on the crown after placing second three times. She is encouraging her fans to come and support her and the competition.
“Vanilla” is presently getting people fit and ready for the Mash season via Digicel’s Mash Fit workout session at the GCC Ground, Bourda.
In addition, she is at Banks on the Avenue for a special Mash Party Fitness Session. When asked where she gets the energy, “Vanilla” smiles and simply says it comes naturally and “I’m generally a happy person”.
The artiste notes that success is not an easy road and gives credit to her label Kross Kolor Records, Banks DIH, Eco Atlantic Investments International, Digicel, Cerulean Group Inc, the Public Telecommunications Ministry, radio stations and DJs, old and new fans, and family and friends, especially Phillycia Burke.
She also encouraged everyone to support Mashramani, since it is one of the festivals that create opportunities for the creative industries as a whole.
