A vendor was on Wednesday hauled before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan after he reportedly had sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl.

Stephon Belle of Port Kaituma Water Front, North West District (NWD) was not allowed to plead to the indictable charge against him.
It is alleged that the 25-year-old engaged in sexual penetration with the girl on July 14, 2018 at Port Kaituma Water Front.
The Prosecution’s case stated that Belle invited the minor to his place of abode, and forcefully had sex with her. After the incident, the girl reported the matter, and the Police arrested Belle.
He was placed on $350,000 bail. The case will continue at the Matthew’s Ridge Magistrate’s Court on August 7.
