Venezuelan national caught drinking with teen’s wife stabbed to death

A Venezuelan national was on Friday stabbed to death at Oronoque, Port Kaituma, North West District (NWD), after he was caught consuming alcohol with the suspect’s wife.
Police have said that the incident, which occurred at about 23:30h, was not reported to the lawmen until more than one hour later.
The dead man has been identified as Felipe Galaviz.
Region One Police Commander, Superintendent Himnauth Sawh, has said that after receiving the report, ranks from the Mabaruma Police Station were deployed to the scene.
Upon arriving there, it was revealed that the 19-year-old suspect came home and met his wife and the victim consuming alcohol. As such, an argument broke out among them, and it led to a confrontation, during which the suspect stabbed the victim in his neck and shoulder.
Galaviz was rushed to the Port Kaituma Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries, but later succumbed. Five persons, including the wife of the suspect, have been arrested and are in custody, assisting with the ongoing investigations.
Police are currently looking for the suspect, who fled the scene after the incident.
