Venezuelans busted with over 90lbs ganja on Essequibo Coast

Police have made another discovery of marijuana, this time on the Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
Reports are that two Venezuelans who were staying at Johanna Cecelia, Essequibo Coast, were arrested after 92lbs of ganja was found in the ceiling of their home.

Police said that on Saturday, ranks conducted a search of the premises where 42 kilograms (or 92lbs) of leaves, seeds, and stems compressed and wrapped in brown scotch tape suspected to be cannabis was found in the ceiling of the said house.
As a result, the two Venezuelans were arrested and taken to the Suddie Police Station. Police said the drug was lodged, and investigations are still ongoing.
Only a week ago a man was taken into custody following the discovery of a large amount of ganja in a minibus during a roadblock exercise on the Weldaad Public Road, West Coast Berbice.
Based on reports received, minibus BSS 4302, with a total of 12 passengers including the driver, was stopped at a roadblock and searched. In the trunk of the minibus, a black suitcase was found to be carrying two bulky parcels wrapped in transparent plastic, containing a quantity of cannabis.
When questioned about the said suitcase, the driver pointed out a male passenger, who admitted ownership of the ganja. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Weldaad Police Station along with the cannabis, where it was weighed in his presence and amounted to 5444 grams. (G9)
