With Christmas less than nine days away, residents of Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo, are gearing up for yet another celebration to be hosted by Slingerz Family on Christmas Day. The event is billed for the Vaergenoegen Rice Mill tarmac.
As usual, the Number One Sound System always gives back to the community and this year will be no different, other than it being bigger and better.
This year, the organisers will be distributing gifts and hampers to senior citizens and children in the community. There will also be Santa Claus and his helpers from 15:00h to mix and mingle with the kids and the elderly. There will also be lots of games for the kids including bouncy castle, trampoline, merry-go-round and face painting.
In addition to the gifts and hampers, there will be lots of goodies.
However, the action begins as the sun sets. Several artistes and deejays are expected to set the tone for the party that is expected to be epic. The list includes Banky Hype all the way from New Jersey; Noah Powa from New York; Guyana’s very own, Selector Face, Deejay Garwin and the Slingerz Family; Deejay Kevin and others.
The main attraction, however, will be Carib Soca Monarch Jumo “Rubber Waist” Primo who is known for his vibes and energy. He has several new hits under his belt and will definitely ensure that his fans are well entertained.
