Volley-ballers commence trials for May’s Bolivia tourney

Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) President Levi Nedd confirmed that his association as well as their counterparts; Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) will be commencing trails for an upcoming senior event set to spike off in Bolivia from May 26 2018.
Nedd told Guyana Times Sport on Thursday that the trials which gets underway from Saturday March 17th at the Guysuco Port Mourant hostel, will see the county’s top male and female players going up against the best from Demerara.
The return event will then see the teams concluding trials on March 24 on Demerara’s turf; the National Gymnasium. Following the trials, Nedd said that the next step was to select the senior teams who will then represent Guyana during the May-June spread of the competition.
Also, the BVA head indicated that the association is currently carrying out registration for a one-day tourney set for March 25. According to Nedd, the competition will be hosted at the Kendall Union Sports Club at #19 Berbice and is expected to be sponsored by Busta.
The BVA is also recruiting players for the U12 and boys/girls U15 teams for a tournament set for August 2018 in Suriname.
