– Forde hails association’s efforts
President of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), Wayne Forde, expressed delight and satisfaction in the continued progress of the sport when he delivered brief remarks at the launching of the West Demerara leg of the GFF-Pele Alumni Frank Watson U–15 Intra-Association tournament at the Wales Community Centre Ground, West Bank Demerara, last Saturday.
“This tournament is a critical pillar in the GFF youth development structure and is the second of
the nationwide intra-association youth development league first introduced by my administration

in 2016,” Forde stated.
He further said that the tournament is countrywide and is being played in all Regional Member
Associations (RMAs) to capture untapped talent across the ten regions. The GFF President
further disclosed that scouts will be present during the tournament in search for new talent and
will work under the direction of the Technical Director, Ian Greenwood. The scouted players will
then be enlisted into the GFF-Scotiabank Academy Training Centres (ATCs) and will be exposed to a national age-specific coaching programme, conducted every week. Three of the
RMAs – Rupununi, East Bank and the Upper Demerara – have already launched their leg of the
tournament.
