A resident of Wales, East Bank Demerara (EDB) was on Friday granted bail when he appeared at the Wales Magistrate’s Court charged for being in possession of ammunition.
Eric Scott, 25, of Bagotville, Wales, East Bank Demerara (EBD) denied the charge read by Magistrate Clive Nurse.
That charge alleged that he in January 2017 at Bagotville Public Road, West Bank Demerara (WBD) he was found to be in possession of two rounds of .32 ammunitions.
His representing Attorney Bernard Da Silva argued that his client is indeed the owner of the car in which the ammunition was found.
However, on the day in question, the defendant parked his car on the road which made it accessible to anyone. He also explained to the Court that the ammunition was not found in the presence of his client as it was found when Scott was at the time in the interior.
The court was informed that the defendant’s vehicle was towed away by Police Officers who were in possession of the vehicle until his client’s return from the interior.
Da Silva said that the car is also used occasionally for private hire. He was released on $75,000 bail. The case will continue on June 30.
